This is a simplified version of French Toast that I make for my son’s breakfast and that he eats with some ketchup.
If you have any remaining eggs left after soaking the toast, just add it in the pan after the toast are ready for a mini omelet.
Ingredients for 2 toasts:
- 2 thick slices of bread (sturdy or day-old works best)
- 2 eggs
- A splash of milk
- Pinch of salt
- Vegetable oil and butter (for frying)
Directions:
- In a deep but flat plate beat the eggs until homogenous.
- Add a pinch of salt and a splash of milk and mix well.
- Soak the bread on both sides until the mixture is absorbed.
- Preheat some vegetable oil in a pan on medium heat then add the butter and the soaked toasts.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crisp.
Enjoy 😉
